Troodos Mountains - Kykkos Monastery excursion
Join us for an unforgettable excursion into the green heart of the island:
The Troodos Range of Mountains. We'll pass by the largest water dam,
through picturesque mountain villages and pine forests, we'll stop at the center of
Troodos Mountains:
the Central Square, 1750 m above sea level or in Platres
for our coffee break.
We'll continue through more pine forests, pass by the Marathasa valley
and we'll arrive at the richest, largest and the most famous monastery of the island,
Kykkos Monastery founded in the 12th century,
dedicated to Virgin Mary and known for an icon of the mother
of God believed to have been painted by St. Luke.
We'll also visit the Tomb of the first President of Cyprus,
the Archbishop Makarios III, followed by a stop off for lunch.
On the way back to Limassol we'll stop for a coffee break at Omodos village.
