Cruise to Syria
Syria is a most amazing country, where Western civilization blends beautifully with the Orient.
Stroll around the various Bazaars of the ports for that super extra bargain or join one of our shore excursions for either some serious shopping or visit some of the most renown archaeological sites of the world.
Note: Passengers with Israeli stamp in their passport will not be allowed to disembark.
Shopping in Damascus
After Immigration formalities, we board air-conditioned coaches for our shopping trip to Damascus.
Our first stop is the Bazaar of Hamidieh, probably the largest undercover market of Damascus. In the hundreds of shops there, you can find most personal or household items, spices, gold and silver and souvenirs at unbelievably low prices. The traditional bargaining is a MUST.
After the Hamidieh Bazaar, we board the buses again for a visit to the Bab Touma district of Damascus. Here you will find some of the finest shops for clothing of well-known brands, also at unbelievably low prices. Again bargaining is recommended here.
After Bab Touma, we board the buses for our return journey back to Tartous and the ship.
Shopping in Latakia
Latakia, Syria’s main port city, has a Mediterranean and Levantine character stemming from its days as the capital city of Syria under Roman rule. Enjoy the day strolling through the streets and visiting the numerous shops and oriental bazaars.
